Collection: ALEC VON BARGEN

Alec Von Bargen (b. 1972, New York City) is a multidisciplinary artist, a kind of social anthropologist. Using photography as a starting point for his artistic practice, he captures aesthetic moments that resonate authentically within their historical, political, and social contexts. Although his research is meticulous, he does not prepare, pre-produce, illuminate, or stage the creation of his murals, sculptures, installations, and videos. Von Bargen has exhibited at the 54th and 56th Venice Biennales, at the Victoria and Albert Museum in London, at the OCT Museum in Shanghai, China, and at Les Rencontres d'Arles in France, among others.
