Monographic print on stoneware
Unique piece
24 x 18 x 3.5 cm
2026
According to Hindu tradition, Tulsi opens the gates of heaven. A tulsi plant, grown spontaneously in the artist's childhood home, becomes the origin of a visual and emotional memory. From this image emerges a Pompeian red — a symbol of life and death — that redefines the floral patterns of domestic fabrics: her mother's bathrobes, a kitchen curtain, the upholstery of a sofa perceived as a precious tapestry, and the wallpaper of a small living room.
Through the firing process, the artist removes these elements from their ephemeral nature, fixing the present moment. The combustion of organic substances contained in the clay symbolically frees the flowers from personal traces, transforming them into purified fragments of memory, open to new narratives.
Each work is a unique piece of stoneware on which the artist imprints images of flowers and plants using a personal technique. This method involves direct printing on ceramics followed by high-temperature firing, making each creation unrepeatable. The work reflects on time, memory, and the transformation of matter, giving new form to what is destined to disappear.
