The catalog accompanies the exhibition "Conversazione" and offers an important insight into Marco Grimaldi's work, revealing its most intimate origins: drawing. Divided into three sections— "Conversing" "Drawing ," and "Painting "—the text by Matteo Galbiati interweaves critical reflection and poetic insight, conveying the complexity of a creative process that moves between discipline and deviation, control and freedom.
Alongside the works on display, the volume presents for the first time a selection of drawings and pages from the artist's diaries, previously unpublished materials that testify to the process of constructing visual thought and the ongoing dialogue between gesture, sign, and color.
The graphic design, essential and horizontal like the rhythm of his works, transforms the catalogue into an extension of the painting: the cover echoes the pictorial surface, while inside the back of the canvas is revealed, like a gesture of intimacy that invites us to enter the heart of the creative process.
A document that goes beyond simple exhibition testimony, restoring the voice of a dialogue—between artist and work, between thought and matter—that continues between the pages.
Marco Grimaldi (Udine, 1967) graduated from the Brera Academy of Fine Arts, a student of Gottardo Ortelli. He has collaborated and exhibited extensively at major galleries, including Cavenaghi Arte Milano, Mazzoleni Arte Contemporanea Milano, Galerie Alter Markt Saale, Gallery NHK Tokyo, Galleria Artemisia Montecarlo, Galleria Torbandena Trieste, and Galleria Elefante Bergamo. His work has also been featured in numerous awards and exhibitions, including prestigious museum collections in Italy and abroad. His works were recently acquired by the VAF Foundation for the Mart Museum in Trento-Rovereto. He has also participated in major art fairs in Italy and abroad.
